On behalf of the Friends of Mayer Board, we want to extend a tremendous THANK YOU to the amazing parent community of Mayer Magnet School. Each year we work hard to come up with new ways to motivate our community to give in both, time and money, to support the students at Mayer. Your support continues to fill the gaps between what the CPS budget provides and what we know our students and teachers need to be successful.
And this year our success continues to grow because of YOU…the parent community, who understands that without the dollars raised by FOM and the time committed by parent volunteers, Mayer would not be the shining star among CPS schools that it is today. So we can’t Thank You enough for giving of yourselves and helping us raise approximately $650,000 this year (estimate of gross $ raised). A fundraising achievement unmatched by most schools and non-profit organizations. This is an achievement we should all take pride in.
As the books close on another great school year, Friends of Mayer is already looking ahead to how we can successfully kickoff the 2017-18 school year. It starts by electing a new Board of Directors who have all worked hard this year to take on leadership roles within different areas of FOM and will now be leading the charge next year. Please congratulate the following parent volunteers who will serve on the 2017-18 Friends of Mayer Board:
Another great way to start next year off right is to join current families and welcome new families as they mix and mingle at a Summer Social hosted by Columbia Yacht Club (111 N. Lake Shore Drive) on Tuesday, July 25 from 4:30-7:30pm. Please RSVP HERE by Friday, July 21 to socialize this summer!
