What is the IB MYP?
The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program (IB MYP) is an internationally recognized education program designed to challenge students to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to participate as active and responsible citizens in a changing world. The International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) officially certified Oscar Mayer as an MYP school in January 2010. Mayer offers the MYP for 6th-8th grade, or ages 11-13 at the start of school. The MYP prepares students for the IB Diploma Program, which begins in grades 11-12 in the United States. Several CPS high schools continue the MYP program for grades 9-10 and offer the Diploma Program.
