We had a wonderful day in session this past two days with all of our teachers and students back in the classrooms. I am thrilled there was an agreement between CTU and CPS, which allowed children to be in school. I overheard many teachers and children say how happy they were to be in school. Thank you all again for your patience and understanding through this process.
I am proud to announce that Oscar Mayer earned a level 1+ status again for this past school year. CPS has a school quality rating report in place to measure the effectiveness of all schools. Schools are measured in 9 different categories. Categories range from NWEA student attainment and growth, school’s rating on our 5Essentials parent, student and teacher survey, and student attendance. You can learn more about the SQRP metrics by checking out this website http://cps.edu/Performance/Documents/SQRP_Introduction.pdf
Many families and educators are making tough decisions and leaving Chicago Public Schools; Mayer is thriving. I appreciate the trust you place in us with your child’s education. Mayer is growing in enrollment, and growing in our achievement. We are fortunate to have an amazing group of educators, dedicated families, and really incredibly talented children at Mayer.
