It is with great pleasure that I share with the community some exciting news about changes coming to Mayer.
As most of you know, this past winter we experienced many issues with our heating system from one boiler going down to no heating in some classrooms due to broken heating coils. After 12 years of being on the waiting list for capital improvements, we received news that Mayer will be undergoing capital improvements starting on our last day of classes.
The scope of the project is to provide two new boilers, remove and replace 44 unit ventilators in classrooms, new chilling systems, energy efficient hot water pumps, chemical treatment systems, all related piping and electrical system work too. While the building is buzzing with excitement for the much needed work, we also have a lot to do in terms of preparing our building for construction.
In addition, to these changes, we are currently undergoing a complete wireless upgrade. The scope of this work is to replace all wireless access points with a more high powered internet access throughout our school building. We are two weeks into this project whose completion date is prior to the capital improvement project.
As you can see, there will be a lot happening at Mayer this summer but the benefits are great and long overdue!
