Dear Mayer Parents and Families,
I can’t thank you enough for a great school year. As you know, I have been working diligently for quite sometime to find and secure an Assistant Principal. I am pleased to announce that this search has ended. Please join me in welcoming, Liz Wontor-Leach into the Mayer family! Please see her introductory letter below.
Dear Mayer Community,
It is with humility, honor, and great pleasure that I greet you as the Assistant Principal of Oscar Mayer Magnet School. My name is Liz Wontor-Leach. I was born on Chicago’s south side and grew up in a small rural town in Kentucky. I am proud to have spent the entirety of my career in Chicago Public Schools. I bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the work of teaching and learning.
I am a leader who is passionate about public schools and dedicated to ensuring that all students have access to a high-quality learning experiences. I believe in the power of education to change the lives of children and the ability for great schools to transform communities and drive positive change in our city. I am committed to achieving excellence for each and every one of our students. I am excited by the opportunity to partner with Mrs. Drayton and support her work empowering our children as creative and critical thinkers in order to prepare them for the challenges of the 21st century.
My experience as an Assistant Principal has instilled a core belief that my role as a leader is to support teachers, put students at the forefront of all decisions, empower parents, and engage all other stakeholders in the success of our students.
